About Robert Stuart

Robert is the broker for Professional Real Estate Brokerage located midway up the San Francisco Peninsula in Redwood City, California.   He is an officer and board member for the San Francisco branch of CAREB and also a member of NAHREP.

He began his real estate career in 1986 while working at Franklin Properties (a subsidiary of the Franklin-Templeton Group of Funds) and has been involved in approximately $500 million in transactions. At Franklin Properties, he received a great deal of knowledge and training and was involved in acquisitions, due diligence, dispositions, property management and research in both residential and commercial real estate.  He analyzed and helped purchase and dispose of distressed assets from several institutions including CALFed Savings and Loan.  DeWitt Bowman, the former head of CALSTERS- one of the largest pension funds in the world - paid him the highest compliment when he said that the research and analysis that Robert had done regarding a potential apartment portfolio acquisition was the BEST that he had ever seen.


In 1998, Robert left Franklin to found Professional Real Estate Brokerage which has focused primarily on residential single-family home sales.  In 2000, Mr. Stuart was selected over a hundred other Realtors in an RFP process to sell properties for the San Mateo County Public Guardian and in 2008 was again selected over a hundred other Realtors in an RFP process conducted by the San Mateo County Public Administrator.  These types of sales involve homes that are in various states of repair and are sold as-is with no warranty and are sold according to the guidelines set forth by both the County and the local court rules.

Since 2007, Robert has worked with distressed sellers and their lenders such as Bank of America, One West Bank, Wells Fargo Bank and Chevy Chase Bank in helping dispose of significantly over-leveraged assets and has successfully represented buyers of both REO and short sale properties.  Many home sales and buying opportunities are now distressed sales and you can benefit from Robert's vast experience in these areas.
